How to Get a Facebook Custom URL
By Krissy Mayse
You can personalize your Facebook URL (web address) by selecting a unique username. It will appear in the location bar of your browser after "http://www.facebook.com/" when you view your profile. For example, mine is www.facebook.com/krissymayse.
Someone who has NOT taken that extra little step to get the personalized URL would have a Facebook address that looks like this:
Who wants to try to fit THAT on a business card?
And really, do you WANT a sixty letter and number website address in your email signature?
So in order to make it look like this: www.facebook.com/krissymayse here are two options that Facebook offers for you to get your own custom web address on Facebook. Both are FREE. The Help Center at Facebook says you can just go to this link:
Then you can select a username that Facebook suggests or create your own. Select "Check availability" to check for available usernames. If the desired username is available, click "Confirm" in order to confirm your choice
The other way you can do this is to click on (from your page) Account, then Account Settings, then Name, choose Change Username. It's to the right. And you're all done!
