A common mistake that many people make when looking into FourPointMoms is thinking that we are simply “recruiters.” Another mistake they make is when they think that they have to “know” a lot of people to work this business. Interestingly enough, they understand that they need to have a contact list but they forget to think about the myriad of other ways to generate contacts. They just assume they are going to be pounding the pavement and having to beg their great aunt Ida to “sign up” for whatever it is our company is marketing.
I’ve been doing this for 8 years now and 97% or greater of the folks I talk to come through the Internet. I don’t know them beforehand and may not ever meet some of them in person. In fact, I’d have to say I won’t meet the majority of them in person ever. I don’t beg anyone to work for themselves or become a customer and I’m also selective. Most people are friendly and fun to talk to. You can tell that you would enjoy working with them and be able to help them succeed. However, there ARE some people I talk to that I KNOW I don’t want to work with or mentor on a daily basis.
FourPointMoms opens accounts for an international company that manufactures its own “green” products and has been doing so for nearly a quarter of a century. We present a detailed business summary of how we train people to become independent contractors from home and ask them if they would like to get started.
Typically when someone uses the word “recruiting” it sounds like they just ate something that left a bad taste in their mouth. This is an indicator that they have a preconceived notion about “recruiting.”
I want to start by stating that one of the many definitions of recruiting is “to enroll” or “to seek to enroll.” Well, we definitely DO seek to get people started working from home with us. However, we don’t have to go out and accost people on the streets or bother our friends and family. What we have to offer is fun, fabulous and can be stress relieving, as well. So, because it is such a great concept, many of our members do tell their friends and family and people they like about us – because they are happy about what they are doing- but it is not a necessity. Most of us choose to build our business using the Internet.
FourPointMoms teaches its members how to acquire contacts using a variety of methods. Each member has three websites that can attract visitors. We also provide sample wording and ads for people who want to advertise locally. We train on how to use blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social media to attract prospective customers. We’ll even show you how to make a great little bandit sign. Those work really well and we have been surprised at how fast someone can grow their paycheck using them.
One of our most popular forms of generating contacts is through established relationships with advertising companies. These companies put out an ad for FourPointMoms and our members can easily decide they want to reach 20 people who requested information on what we do. In just a matter of hours, someone can be up and running their own business.
So, are we “recruiting”? In the strictest form of the definition, yes. However, if the concern is having to “know a lot of people” or making contacts in person – the answer is “not really.” Why? Because we have options, choices, and the flexibility to work for ourselves in the way that is most comfortable for each individual.
